The Edge Pools

Experience the natural rock pools perched on the 108-meter (355-foot) drop of Victoria Falls.

You reach the pools by wading and swimming across a mild current from Livingstone Island. A submerged rock lip forms a natural barrier, allowing you to peer safely over the abyss.

Swimming is strictly regulated and only permitted during designated low-water seasons. All visits require a guided boat tour from the Zambian riverbank.

Devil's Pool

30 minutesMin age 12 to swim

This is the primary pool right on the 108-meter drop of the falls. A natural rock lip just beneath the surface acts as a barrier, stopping swimmers from going over the edge. It is approximately 3 meters (10 feet) deep and opens during the dry season from mid-August to late December.

Angel's Pool

30 minutesAlternative high-water pool

This alternative rock pool sits on the edge of the falls. Guides use this pool when water levels are slightly higher and Devil's Pool is unsafe. It usually operates earlier in the season, roughly from January to August. You still get excellent views of the cascading water.
